Luton Holding Stack

NATS is proposing to bring all aircraft in from the west over Cambridge. They would join the stack and then circle awaiting clearance to land at Luton. They exit the stack at the southwest corner. Even aircraft arriving from the south or west would be obliged to fly north to Cambridge and then west towards the stack, before returning to Luton. The image below shows the various height levels of aircraft and the average volume per hour. I have not included the map for Luton Easterly Arrivals as it is almost identical, and any differences are only relevant to those within a few miles of Luton.
The image below shows how the planes will join the hold from the east, west and south. As you can see, they come in from the south, loop around just south of Cambridge and join the stack from the east.
FL = Flight Level and add 2 zeros to the number to find the height e.g. FL70 = 7000 feet. The image below shows how the planes will exit the hold towards the south and Luton airport.
